Nathaniel Hawthorne’s roots go back to the Salem witch trials. His ancestor, John Hawthorne, was the only judge to never repent. It drips from the pages of his novel, The Scarlet Letter. You see it in Nathaniel’s stare. Even his signature bears an invisible line in the sand. Nathaniel would later suppress his own work as if the guilt was eating him.

In this episode, we look at Mass Psychogenic Illness and its remarkable similarities to the modern pandemic.
